Famous Cases :
Suleyman & Suleyman [2018] FCCA 3463
Represented the respondent mother. The court awarded the mother sole parental responsibility but imposed restrictions on interstate relocation with the child. Citing the paramount principle of the "best interests of the child" under family law, this case became one of the landmark precedents in parenting disputes.
Bayer & Monssen (No 2) [2017] FCCA 2317
Successfully advocated for reopening a parenting matter on the ground of a flawed existing final parenting order that limited the father to "supervised contact vists only”, finally leading to a varied final parenting orders which allows the visiting father to have unsupervised visits.
Cross-Border Property Case (DGC3622/2017)
Represented a Chinese national in a cross-border property dispute. Prior to trial, submitted critical legal correspondence requesting adjournment of the final hearing, which was opposed by the other party. Leveraged this refusal to secure compensation for legal costs. Strategically invoked lesser-known statutory provisions to depart from the usual practice of "each party bears their own costs" in family law matters.
Innovative 188B Investor Visa Case
Client, a trade business owner with no stock investment background, structured a compliant investment portfolio through seven property transactions (purchase-appreciation-sale). Successfully persuaded immigration authorities to recognize the validity of this unconventional pathway, resulting in visa grant.
AAT Spouse Visa decision in place of a Department visa refusal decision.
Overturned a Department visa refusal decision on the ground of lack of genuine relationship. During the AAT appeal process, new medical evidence and cohabitation records were provided to demonstrate the authenticity of the relationship. Achieved reversal of the refusal decision within three months.
